Christ calls every member of the church into ministry. We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people (1 Peter 2:9). As a greeter you are a minister.

When a person steps into a churchfor the first time, he or she evaluates the atmosphere. He/She asks him/herself: "Will they accept me?" "Will it be easy to make friends?" "Will my spiritual and personal need be met?" "Will it be easy to find my way around?" "Will my family like it here?"

The visitor will quickly come to some conclusion the first few minutes. First impressions are often lasting impressions. The minsitry of the greeters is one of the most important roles in a church. Greeters need to ensure that people see and experience the love of Christ.
